These experiences can be difficult and require them to adjust again and again. Despite these hardships, we know that military children show incredible resiliency. They demonstrate courage, flexibility, and strength as they build new friendships and adapt to new places. Thank you to the Military children! We’re having a great time celebrating our Military students during the month of the Military Child! Here’s another fun fact about military kids. Did you know that military families typically move every 2-3 years on average. Because of their frequent relocations, most military kids change schools 6 to 9 times from Kindergarten through 12th grade – about three times more than their non-military peers.
Attention all 6th and 7th graders! It’s your time to shine and bring your fun and new ideas to light in the school. Want to help plan pep-assemblies and get the school amped to show their school spirit? Want to help plan spirit days, socials, or events in the school? Want to be the voice of your peers and keep influencing positive change and belonging in CKMS? Then run for an ASB position! Spring elections are happening next month and plenty of positions are open, from President to Secretary, to Spirit Commissioner, PBIS Rep, and everything in between. Keep listening to the announcements for more information and when to pick up your candidate packets. Have any questions? Stop by the ASB window or ask any of our current ASB representatives.
