7th graders, if you weren’t in your typical advisory class yesterday, please check in with that teacher and grab your permission slip for the June 12th field trip to the Shipyard! Permission slips are due back next Friday. The first 7th grade advisory class with 100% of their permission slips gets cookies from Mrs. Collins!
Our Cross Country team ran an awesome race against Ridgetop and Curtis at yesterday’s 2 mile meet! O.A. won 1st place in the girls race. Go Girls! Many of our athletes achieved personal records in a very crowded course!
We still have Mariner’s tickets for sale at the ASB office! it will be a fun way to end the school year – get tickets for your family, friends, kids you know from sport leagues. It’s going to be an awesome game!

Our Volleyball team had an amazing game last night against Curtis Junior High! Varsity won with a 3-0 shutout and JV won their game 2-1. Way to go girls!
Today our Cross Country team gets to leave class at 1:45 to take on Curtis and Ridgetop over at Ridgetop Middle. First race is at 4pm.
7th and 6th graders – we’ve already had a lot of you pick up ASB election packets which is amazing! But we still have more available – we want anyone and everyone to run for ASB. This is your chance to help make CKMS a better place for students and be the voice of your fellow classmates. Reminder that applications are due on the 20th at the ASB window. Need a packet? Stop by the ASB office.
Cheer is hosting Bingo Night at Maynard’s on the 31st. It’s a great opportunity to help support our Cheer team – so stop by, say hi, and see if your family can help support the event.
Our final Social of the year is happening June 5th after school! We are working on social contracts and will be passing them out at lunches at a later date, so keep an eye out! Invite your friends at school and get ready to have an amazing time!

CKMS was well represented this past Saturday at the Olympic Music Educators Association Middle School Vocal and Ensemble Competition held at Marcus Whitman. Students who competed an ensemble with A.F., A.L., and P.M. Two solos were also sung – one by A.F. and the other by M.B. All students performed very well and received valuable information from the judge. Congratulations to these singers for their outstanding achievement!

Your CK Cross Country team ran a competitive race against Hawkins and Marcus Middle school yesterday at home! Many of our athletes achieved personal records in a very crowded course, resulting in our team’s overall win of the entire meet! A huge shout out to our CKMS Volleyball and Football teams for being out there cheering on the athletes!
Today our Volleyball team is leaving right after school to head to Hawking for their 3:30 game. Make sure you wish them luck!
Today is our monthly New Kid Lunch! All new students and anyone looking to mix it up and meet new people are welcome to join – they will be meeting in Mrs. Cherry’s classroom during both lunches.

If you have autism, anxiety, or another neurodiversity, come to the Awesome Student Den on Mondays after school from 3:45 to 4:45 in room 1502 with Ms. de Mey. At the Awesome Student Den, students can learn about their neurodiversity, coping skills, and much more! If you are interested, you can stop by the ASB window to sign up or visit Ms. de Mey in room 1502 at your designated lunch time.
We have a couple opportunities to support CKMS athletics! There are Mariners tickets at the ASB window fort he June 21st game. Seats are near the field on the 100 level and are $35 each! We hope you enjoys the Month of the Military Child in April. We know that Military children face challenges that many other do not, including frequent moves, changing schools, and time apart from a deployed parent. These experiences can be difficult and require them to adjust again and again. Despite these hardships, we know that military children show incredible resiliency. They demonstrate courage, flexibility, and strength as they build new friendships and adapt to new places. Thank you to the Military children! We recognize your sacrifices and honor the resilience and bravery you show every day.
