Dear CKMS 7th grade families,
Our entire 7th grade class has the awesome opportunity to visit Puget Sound Naval Shipyard on June 12th! The purpose of the field trip is to explore various Navy and civilian careers, especially those in the Science/Tech/Engineering/Mathematics fields. There is no fee to attend this field trip.
Students will...
- miss periods 1-5 on the 12th
- leave CKMS at 9:30A
- return to CKMS at 2:30P and attend Period 6
- pack a lunch or get a school bagged lunch (charged to student account).
What to Bring
- backpack (students will attend Period 6 upon return to school)
- water bottle
- a light-weight jacket
- closed toe shoes (no slides, sandals or flip flops) for the field trip.
Students will NOT be allowed to bring their cell phones on the bus or on base.
The field trip permission form is linked above (blue button bar) if you are able to print from home.
- Students must return a SIGNED permission form to their Advisory teacher by May 22nd.
- Students will receive a paper copy of the permission form to go home this week.
We will need a good number of family volunteers to chaperone this fun day!
- Due to shipyard security requirements, chaperones MUST be approved as a CKSD Volunteer, AND complete a Base Access Pass Registration.
- Family members with current base access do not need to fill out the form, we will just need a copy of your Base Access ID (like a Common Access Card).
-
Interested in being a chaperone? Please contact Stephanie Tell, at StephanieT@ckschools.org, by Monday, May 18th so we can make sure we have all your necessary paperwork.
