CELEBRATE Our Cubs!

GREAT NEWS for our Cub Community! The Washington State Board of Education is pleased to share that Central Kitsap Middle School has been recognized by the Washington School Recognition program for its performance during the 2024-2025 school year. Our school is being recognized for Growth! Receiving this recognition is no small honor — our school is one of only 16% of schools statewide who received recognition this year. Schools like ours made great strides to improve outcomes for students by closing gaps and showing tremendous growth and achievement.

Let’s Talk About the Toys…

Our Cub Team could really use your support with ensuring students are NOT bringing toys to school (e.g. stuffed animals, sparkly-light-up holiday wands, large squishy toys). Unnecessary items cause classroom disruption, peer-conflict and inappropriate behavior. Typically, the approved-use of a small, hand-held fidget or other “comfort” item has been arranged between parents, teachers, counselor and/or Special Education case manager. When in doubt, reach out to your teachers. Please talk with your student about keeping toys at home and ONLY bringing what is needed for classroom instruction or hygiene.

PTA News

This is a friendly reminder that nominations are still open for the Golden Acorn, Outstanding Advocate, and Outstanding Educator awards! These awards recognize the incredible individuals in our school community who go above and beyond to support students, staff, and families through their dedication, service, advocacy, and leadership.

Do you know a volunteer who is always willing to help, an advocate who consistently supports our students and families, or an educator who makes a lasting impact every day? This is a wonderful opportunity to recognize and celebrate their contributions. Nominations CLOSE at midnight on Friday 5/22! If you have someone in mind, we encourage you to take a few moments to submit a nomination using the link below:
